I am 20. I too have tried many medications, but only just recently have i found the right combination of medication for me. I suffer from chronic pain as well as something called schizoaffective disorder which means i suffer bipolar symptoms as well as some schizophrenia symptoms. I have found my docs wall want to focus on my mental health rather than the pain so i have no found many answers for the pain either yet. I wonder if there is a link between the too disorder but i am unsure if there is. I hope you have the strength to keep trying even when it can be very tough sometimes.

Best of luck
Freddie

I know that depression and chronic pain is defiantly linked. I have major depression and panic disorder and been on lexapro, wellbutrin and zoloft and none of these meds seem to help with the depression. i heard that it's pretty common for the meds to not help some people. To be honest, I am also tired of going to doctors and having them change my meds and put me on new ones that end up doing nothing. Therapy doesn't seem to help at all. There are days when I cannot get out of bed. I'm only 22 but I've been dealing with this since I was 15. My advice would be not to give up and think about the people in your life that's important to you. I found that talking to people who understand where you're coming from helps alittle. I wish you the best.

Bipolar is manic depression, just a newer term. The are not separate disorders. I know it feels like you have gone through a lot of meds but honestly there are a lot more out there that you can try. I hate to think of all the meds I have tried. I am now on an MAOI as SSRI and SNRIs haven't taken care of my depressive symptoms. I also have ECT every two weeks or so. Don't give up.

As to chronic pain, no, it is not part of bipolar. You need to see a general medical doctor for that along with your psychiatrist for bipolar.
