Can a girl get her period while being on 2 types of birth control?

So my girlfriend is on 2 types of birth control . Last week on Saturday night she told me that she bled a little bit & it was like a purplish color . Then she told me that yesterday she had some very light spotting & this morning when she woke up she was bleeding like a regular period . But she had told me that since she was taking 2 types of birth control she probably wouldn’t get her period . I just want to know what’s going on .

This is older, is she still having issues? bleeding during birth control is usually what they call break through bleeding and it is actually just spotting. It means the birth control also may be compromised.  I'd have her see her doctor.  What type of birth control is she on that she is on two different ones?
