IUD [Mirena] Removal & your period

I got my IUD removed on 3/14/2012. I went to the doctors to get it taken out but no they could not see the string so I had to get it sergically removed. I was bleeding the next 4-5 days post removal but that was not from my period [ I thought at the time it was my period but I was wrong. This is a lot lot lot like 3.5 years worth ;)  more blood than what was after my removal ] Kidding but it is a lot. It took me 35 days after IUD removal to have my 1st period. I have not had a period at all the entire time 3.5 years that I had mirena, so I am so excited and thankful to start my cycle. I hope to get prego soon!!
