how affective is the depo shot?

Okay well I'm 18 and my mom had recently put me on the shot, I have only taken it twice. When I got the second shot it was feb 12 when I had gotten it the nurse told me to at least wait 2 weeks before I have sex... and well let's just say that didn't end up happening.. it is now may and I think I may be pregnant, I don't have all the symptoms, but I have a couple. Like before I got my period (which was really light & my shot expired 2 weeks ago) I got this bloodyish brownish discharge, my period only last 2 days, for the past two weeks I've been really really tired like extremely tired, ill go to bed at nine and I can't even wake up early anymore, and this is so unusual for me because I don't like to sleep that much, everything gets on my nerves, and my boobs have been getting bigger & hurting a little, oh and plus the other day I smelt everything like I smelled perfume as if someone was drowning in it but come to find it was me.. and my friend even said she couldn't smell it at all, and at lunch the smell of my friends salad made me want to gag.. I know those aren't all the signs so I'm going to wait until the end of the month to take a test, and I keep on reading on other peoples posts and eveybody says different things like you can get pregnant on the shot and how you can't. I just want to know the truth.
