Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that you will have to wait for your periods to become regular before you can use natural family planning.  It is variable when that will occur after removal of the implant--can be up to 18 months although usually not that long.  Oral contraceptive pills supposedly do not cause much weight gain--they say 3-5 lbs in the research studies.  I have had lots of patients who claimed that they DO cause weight gain though.  You might try a few cycles to see what happens--they are much easier to stop than the implant or the Mirena.
Good luck!
