Pregnancy and Merina

Hello. I have had the merina IUD in place for nearly 5 years. My periods became very light spotting once every few months. Over the last 6 months my periods have become more regular and have been between 26 and 28 days cycles. This month however I am a week and a half late.

My question is am I at higher risk of pregnancy due to the age of the merina and it needing to be replaced soon? I'm hopeful it is simply a matter of a funny cycle and not baby number 5.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you to do a pregnancy test.  I ALWAYS advise that, so don't be too alarmed.  If the pregnancy test was negative, I would feel comfortable waiting to replace the IUD.
Good luck!
