Cause of low platelets??

hi, a year ago a girl kissed me; I realized that she was sick (she brushed it off as allergies). The next day I woke up feeling tired, sick, with frequent urination, and with a pink dry rash on my thigh. After about a week of not feeling better, I went to the doc. He said the rash was nothing (maybe just dermatitis or irritated) and he said I might have the flu or something (all his speculation, no real testing). He finally ordered urine tests for STDs, and HIV blood test as well routine blood tests. All normal except platelets came back too low (report said Sticky platelets, repeat with different tube). The new value came back at 75,000. Went to hematologist; she ran a bunch of tests and said it was ITP. No treatment needed at those levels. The rash finally went away a month later with the help of prescribed steroid cream. To this day (a year later) I still have low platelets (70-85k). I strongly believe I caught something from the girl, and it is untreated and causing an immune response. Any idea what I should test for? Symptoms: Low platelets, constant white mucus/sticky saliva in throat, shortness of breath (on/off), mild constipation.
