If you do searches, white spots on MRIs are MS like, show up after epilepsy seizures etc.

An oncologist is a doctor that treats cancer. So if your doctor thought your husband had cancer, he would send him to an oncologist who is a specialist in cancer.

I would ask the doctor what are the white spots. What can you do that will help your husband to keep him healthier. There are diets that may help.

I do not think the white spots are cancer. Hopefully the Doc would have referred you to an oncologist right away.

The petit-mal seizures are the small ones. The ones that seem to be the problem are the tonic-clonic ones as people with those types have a higher incidence of dying suddenly.
So the answer is due to having the seizures as far as I can find but I would ask the doctor more specific questions about with white spots.
