What is an hypoechoic lesion ?

10 mm ill-defined hypoechoic lesion in left breast at 10:00 position. Symptoms are some pain and tenderness but flares up when ovulating. No other outward signs. Seems to go down in size when its not as tender. Maternal Granmdmother had BC. Had repeated mastitis in the same breast 2 years ago when I was nursing my 6th child.
Doctor mentioned shadowing but not written on the results. Being referred for an MRI.
