29 yo Female - Left Breast Tenderness

Hello, I am a 29 year old 5'4 114lbs - stay at home mom to a 3 year old. Yesterday evening my daughter and I were snuggled up on the couch, I had my left arm around her, and her head was resting on my left breast while we watched a movie together. I sleep on my stomach and my husband works swing shift so he was walking in the door at 2am and him coming in woke me up. About 5-10 minutes after waking, I had this dull achy feeling above my left breast. It actually kept me up until 5am this morning b/c I was so intrigued that it might be something like a heart problem, but I eventually calmed myself down and fell asleep. Off and on all day today I have had that pain above my left breast, and when I "poke" around at it, it's definitely a localized pain. It feels almost like a bruised lymph node b/c it's kindof round and rolls and it hurts like a bruise. (probably from me poking around at it all last night and today) - - the hot bath water somewhat makes it feel better - and I have not taken any medication as far as ibuprofen or anything (I wont' take medicine unless I'm hurting to where I can't take it) I did notice however that at my daughter's soccer practice when I wasn't "poking" and feeling around and my mind was distracted, the pain was somewhat gone. But now it is back again. Is it possible that my daughter could have bruised my left breast while resting her head on me? I just don't want to miss something and possibly have something to worry about.

It sounds like it could very well be related to the positioning you describe with your daughter. Pressure on a nerve for any length of time can be an irritant and cause some discomfort long after the pressure is relieved. If this continues then you might ck. it out with your Dr. but I doubt it has anything to do with your breast itself. Of course the breast are more tender at certain times of the month due to the change in hormone levels and there could be some relation to that too. I also doubt the bruise theory but still tend to lean toward a pinched nerve due to the prolonged pressure.  Regards ....

Oh and I forgot to mention, I just got off my period about 2 days ago, so I'm wondering if this could possibly be something in relation to that. I've never experienced this type of "nodule" pain before so this is new to me.
