Dodgy--I hope you have seen a doctor by now and have gotten a diagnosis for the symptoms you describe. I did not have the same ones, other than the lump, but after a mammogram and ultrasound examinations, I had an excisional biopsy that resulted in a diagnosis of ductile carcinoma. I am male and 62 so our ages are not that far apart. I am getting the standard care treatment for this male breast cancer, and although it is no fun, I am thankful I had the necessary examinations. I hope you do too. Good luck.
I would suggest that you see your Dr. fairly soon for a clinical examination and any tests that may be appropriate for your problem. This could be some minor infection but it may also be something more serious and the sooner you have this investigated the better. Breast cancer does indeed occur in males in the older age groups. Can't really speculate as to the cause over the internet without benefit of examination. Take care ....
