10 lumps in my breast, more chance to be cancer?

Hi, I'm 32 years old and no children. Six months ago I fund that I has 3 lumps in my right breast, when whent for a follow up yesterday fund that they are growing and also fund 7 more lumps. They recommend to see a surgeon and see my options, but  I don't know what to expect, since there so many. The only thing that the dr told me was that maybe a biopsy or lumpectomy will be need it but just 1 lump is ready for that, he said also that we never know sometimes just 1 is cancer so my husband and i are worry, but glad at the same time that we fund it,I guess will see... Anybody with a similar history, should worry about cancer?

Thanx

Glad to know that the meeting with the second doctor went well.
Having a biopsy,as the surgeon recommended, is a very wise decision!.
There is nothing better than to make sure and have peace of mind!
Have a great vacation! :)

Hi again and you are more than welcome!
I really think your husband is a wonderful and caring man to have suggested to seek a second opinion.
I am glad that you and your husband are pursuing this matter...You know, feeling good about a doctor's opinion is always welcome, but having peace of mind by making sure you are safe when it concerns your health is so much better.
Thanks for the update and please do keep us posted.
Sending my best wishes to both of you and I sincerely hope that everything will turn up just fine!  :)

Hi,
I've been following your thread and I sure hope that your Surgeon is right.
However,I would rely more on the radiologist's report who recommended a biopsy for the lump that looks suspicious, rather than rely on the Surgeon who thinks that it "looks" like a fibroadenoma.Without the benefit of a biopsy,no one can be sure if a suspicious lump is benign or not.
Waiting 6 months for a BI-RADS score 3 is the standard procedure, but for a BI-RADS score 4,(as bluebutterfly2222 has also mentioned) a biopsy is recommended because the solid lump looks suspicious and one has to make sure that cancer is ruled out.
I certainly don't want you to worry or scare you in any way,but if I were you I would feel much more comfortable knowing what's going on now,by having the biopsy for the suspicious lump in the right breast that the radiologist recommended in the first place.
To be on the safe side, you could call the radiologist and see if he/she agrees with your Surgeon's recommendation.
Take care and best wishes...

Thanks for sharing your good news!

You are right--getting cancer is sort of like the lottery (in reverse). There are certain things we can do to improve our risk level, but beyond that, it is mostly out of our hands...

Best wishes,

Hi there, thanks so much for care, the surgeon told me that it looks like those lumps are fibroadenomas, and that I need another ultrasound in six months, keep an eye on it and if they keep growing maybe need a surgery, but nothing more than that for now, of course like any other women always checking, better be safe than sorry, We are so happy that it's nothing bad, thank God !!! And this would sounds silly but in a way I see Cancer or any other disease like the lotto, you never know when its gonna hit you, and I said that because I see how 2 very close friends and 1 of them love her like a sister, has being hit by it and they really were(my dearest friend and sister like passed away, brain cancer) and are an example for me and for everybody else close to them. Like I always said from every bad expirience or incident in your life you can always focus or make it into
something positive and that by itself make us better people... I was diagnosis with fibromyalgia and small fiberneutopathy cronic disease, and my life change 360, always take a day at a time and make it the beast I can and trying to find something nice and beautiful to smile about =0) ...sorry a little emotional, jijiji, anyways. You are so nice answering all our questions.   Thank you so much for your knowledge and care to bluebutterfly2222 and japdip !!!! . Best wishes to you guys .....

Hi,

A BI-RADS 4 normally carries a recommendation for a biopsy.

I'm glad you have an appointment with your surgeon tomorrow. With his knowledge of your case from the previous surgery, and the US reports you'll take to him, he'll be able to explain the new findings to you and make whatever recommendation he feels is best for your specific case.

Please update us again after your consultation--we care!

Best wishes,
bluebutterfly

Hi there, so I had my ultrasound monday and found 2 lumps and they said that I need to come back in 6 months for a followup, well I need the reports to bring to the surgeon tomorrow and they gave me a bi-rads4 for the Right side and a bi-rads3 for the Left side, I'm very positive, but like I said before I don't know what to expect. In 2008 had a breast surgery, they remove 3 lumps in my Right and 3 in my Left, don't remember the name of the surgery, or if it was fibroadenomas...well I'm going to the same surgeon who did my surgery last time, since he have already those last reports, we are positive and at the same time a little concern for my right side, but we hope for the best.
Thank you for the advice, I really like this forum.

With the number of lumps you mention this certainly sounds like either Cysts or Fibroadenomas; both of which are benign. With more investigation such as repeat filming or possibly even biosies it can be determined what these lumps represent. You mentioned going for followup but you didn't mention what this included ?? Mammogram and/or Ultrasound. Any lump could possibly something other than a benign finding but a biopsy would be the only way to determine this. I'm sure when you see the Breast Surgeon that it will be made clear to you and further investigation will most likely be done. Cancer isn't known to present itself with multiple lumps such as you have.  Please let us know the results after you have seen the Surgeon.   Regards ....
