Black and Clear Breast Leakage

I am a 34 year old woman, I had a partial hysterectomy 2 years ago. All I have left is my ovaries. I have been having sever breast tenderness and swelling. I noticed the other day that there is a black leakage from both breasts. I had a scare a year ago with a lump and it was just an inflamed lymph node. I am scared and I have no insurance so I don't want to go to the doc because I don't have the money. Could you please give me some advice as to what i could be. Thank You so much.

Hi Katter,

I'm no expert on your particular issue of breast leakage. However, the American Cancer Society interviewed me and is using my story as one of many as they go to Washington to get some help for us, the insured and the uninsured. One of the things I learned from them was this:
See if you can get screened and diagnosed by the state’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, which would make you eligible for the corresponding Medicaid program.
I don't know how you get a hold of them but if it were me, I wouldn't let the lack of insurance stop me. My suggestion is to call the american cancer society. Keep asking questions and you will find out what to do. And at least you know what to ask now :)
Best of luck to you!

Since you still have your ovaries you can still have the cyclic symptoms of breast tenderness due to the hormone levels in the body. Breast discharge is not at all uncommon and can be almost any color and consistancy. There are usually Clinics where uninsured or underinsured women can be seen, possibly free or at a reduced cost. You might call your Public Health Dept. and ask if there is anything available in your area. You should really see a Medical Professional about this; especially if you have had a problem in the past. I would suggest that you ck. with the Dr. who saw you last year regarding the issue at that time.    Regards ...
