Blood Discharge

Hi,
Today I have had a blood discharge from my left nipple.  This is has occured before, February 2010 i had an implanon impalnt and two weeks after my right nipple had blood discharge, only for a day, then i got the implanon out in February this year, exactly two weeks later I had the blood discharge from my left nipple.  Today I am exactly two weeks after my period and I have had the discharge again.  I have an appointment with my doc, but any ideas would be appreciated.  I am freaking out that I have cancer.
Thanks

Hi,
Bloody discharge from the nipple can be associated with many different conditions. Most often it could be an intraductal papilloma which is a noncancerous tumor.
Also, the bleeding can happen from inflammation in the ducts, reaction to drugs, dilatation of the mammary ducts(duct ectasia), and less commonly a cancerous tumor.A lump cannot always be felt (palpable). Also a mammogram often does not show papillomas, but an ultrasound may be helpful. The bloody discharge must be examined under the microscope(called cytological examination) for a diagnosis.Your physician most probably will recommend it.
Best wishes...

Could it be hormonal at all?  I am so freaked out!  When you squeeze the nipple (which I know you shouldn't but I keep doing it to check if it still there), it looks like that duct really opens up.

You should stop squeezing the nipple, the more you do the more it will keep bleeding. There are many conditions that could cause this problem and the majority are not indicative of breast cancer. It's really impossible to know with certainty what's going on, unless some kind of tests are run for a correct diagnosis.
Sorry if I can't be more helpful, but try to calm down this could be a benign condition but your doctor is the only one who can investigate this problem and give you the answer you are seeking.
Take care...

So even squeezing it will cause it to bleed?  The more research I do the more I am finiding that it is not cancer, but I am still worried.  I feel so sick and can't eat!
Thanks for your advice.

I have had bleeding from my right nipple and I'm freaking out about it also. Have you seen your dr yet. I haven't and this has been happening for 3 months.
