Breast Lump

I had a lump removed from my breast 11 months ago and within a day it felt like the lump was still there. I have been back and forth to the doctors and hospital and they said it was a hematoma and will disolve within a couple of months. This was 8 months ago and the lump is still there and getting more painful. Is this normal?

Hi,
After a lumpectomy,it's not unusual that a hematoma can linger and then harden to form  scar tissue at the site of the incision. With gentle nightly massages with vitamin E oil, the hard lump might smooth away and be gradually absorbed.
If the pain persists you could ask your doctor to order an ultrasound or other tests to make sure that the lump is a scar tissue and if it is, surgical removal  would be an option to alleviate the pain.
Best wishes...
