Gadoliniumcand magnivistagent

I am wondering about the gadolinium that they inject in your vein during a MRI and the solution they use. I have read that it can do harm in the future. Any comments on this would be appreciated. Thank you

there is no being clear on NSF.....the media has flooded information stating that ONLY people with SEVERE renal disease MAY develop nsf. Then, some other study that media grabs says, anyone with MODERATE kidney disease is at risk. The lawyer website are all saying you dont need to have ANY kidney disease to develop it.
The number of 'officially documented cases' ranges from 200 to over 1000....some journals will speculate that perhaps there are tens of thousands of cases...being misdiagnosed as arthritis, scleroderma, fibromyalgia, etc. Bottom line is this, gadolinium is a relatively new drug, that was meant to be used with strict discretion. Doctors, like everyone in america, have gotten lazy...so they dont want to spend 30 minutes studying an image to look for subtle abnormalities, they want the McDonalds way....fast, quick, easy...so gadolinium is the answer...if ANYTHING is abnormal it will light up for docs and you and any chimp to see. So, its become the RAGE. if you have a headache, get a scan with contrast. whatever hurts, scan it, with contrast.
alot of anatomy could use a harmless ultrsound, but no doc will even mention that.
so back to being clear...there is no clear.
kidney impairment can mean, you can have a kidney panel...your creatine, BUN, etc all look fine...and guess what..the gad, once injected, causes acute renal failure and you get NSF
OR, you have failing kidneys, but they are appearing normal...on paper...you get NSF
OR, you have an immune system that doesnt like that GAD was injected into it
SO, your immune system goes to work attacking it.....causing calcification and sclerosing of skin, veins, muscles, organs, etc....suddenly, your body is killing you, your kidneys were fine...but you have some immune dysfunction (of which there are plenty) and BAM, youre health is in big trouble.
So, youre going to ask, find and meet people everywhere that have had one, ten, 100 MRI's w/contrast, CT's....and like people who drink at Fridays....they are fine, go to work each day, etc.
But, getting a shot of gad, is like playing roulette, you DO NOT KNOW how your body is going to react. And there is no turning back once its done.
I would advise against it. doctors can read without gad, they just dont like to
the only things they really cant see. are things like micro pituitary tumors, that are usually nothing to worry about anyway.
let us know what you decide

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
How are you? Gadolinium's worst side effect is the development of a debilitating, and sometimes deadly, disease called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis or nephrogenic fibrosing dermopathy in people with impaired renal function. But there have been anecdotal reports of people with no known kidney problems developing NSF/NFD after gadolinium use.
An allergic reaction to this dye may also be present and side effects that anyone using gadolinium may experience include: mild headache, low blood pressure, lightheadedness, nausea and pain or burning at injection site.

Patient with any level of kidney disease or impaired renal function should avoid the contrast agent. You can read more about this through this link: http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/press-release/side-effects-of-gadolinium-29063.php

Take care and regards.
