I am still in pain, achy..anyone else have this happen to them?

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 1 estrogen feed had a lumpectomy on July 9 2008
which was more like a partial mastectomy and sentinel node...cleared margins and no lump nodes involved....I followed up with 12 weeks four rounds of AC chemotherapy agent and finished 33 treatments of Radiation on February 19...during chemotherapy my white blood counts dropped low and so after ever round of chemo 24 hours later I was given nulestra to help boost the count, I ended up with one heck of an infection on treatment two where I was given an antibiotic and was flat on my back until the next round of treatment came...well I made it thru then came the Radiation, not all so bad, some redness tenderness and at the very end started to flake but all in all minus what I was told was "24 hour stomach flu" I made it thru there as well and just last week they removed some tissue from my other breast that turned out to be nothing more then built up tissue "WHEW"

But during this whole time my joints/bones, hips, knees, lower back and neck along with a headache have been hurting and when I say hurting I mean to the point it hurts to even stand to get motivated...oh and yes I also came down with some sort of a  flu; infection whatever after this last operation where I was given antibiotics again! Seen the surgeon today she checked the site all looked good and sent me over to see my family doctor for more blood work to see if the Radiation may have caused this infection 'I have no symptoms other then chills and running a high temp' well of course the body pains and achyness but they started long before this whatever it is that is going on. My family doctor also took chest X-rays along with the blood work and said to call her in the morning to make sure she had my test results back from the lab by noon,

I have already had a bone scan all clear, so I do not understand where all this pain is coming from besides what my Oncologist says that in due time this will all pass in time and not to get discouraged...and if I really believed I was starting to feel some relief by now I may fall into that, but I am not getting any relief at all and this being tired which they call "fatigue" I try and go out and do things to keep moving only to end up fighting infections, I am about at wits ends my husband and I are always bickering  he says I need to get out more get more fresh air 'I live in Michigan winter time HELLO...need I remind him I missed my snowmobiling this winter' do more walking ETC: And I do, I go out when not run down I am out nearly every day trying to find something to keep me busy, which I can stand about three to four hours worth then I am feeling worse then when I started and tired as all get out then I am cranky to the pint I cannot stand myself UGH! I swear I am not trying to cause any more confusion for myself then I am already going thru...if I told him once I've told him a dozen times if only he could be in my shoes for if only an hour he would know how poorly I am feeling 'and me being the one that normally never complains. 'But enough about that! I just need to know if there is anyone else out there who may be experiencing these bone pains and if so how long may I expect to continue with them before I feel some relief , and if no one has experienced this where do I go from here?

I just turned 47 in January and before this I was young and full of life, now I just feel tired all the time and achy!
Oh and in case you are wondering I am not yet on myTamoxifen , I was supposed to start this week but due to illness I had to push that back until I can get back into the my oncologist

I have not yet started taking the Tamoxifen, they wanted me to start it like ASAP but I am wanting to know why the pain I am having is here before I start taking more meds to what? Only make them worse? Oh and also they need to remove my thyroid because of the large protruding nodulers on both sides and I am frightened that with out having that removed and taking Tamoxifen if it is going to interup things more then they already are?

I took Taxotere/Cytoxan for 4 rounds and had severe knee pains. I took pain meds for it and it helped alot and got me through it. Don't be so hard on yourself. If you feel tired, they listen to your body and rest. You will in time regain your strength. You have been through alot and your body needs time to heal.

Take care,

Nancy

Are you by any chance on Tamoxifen .... I believe you stated that your cancer was Estrogen pos.  These various aches and pains, etc. sound like typical side effects from your treatment. Many women say the side effects can last as long after treatment is completed as the treatment itself.  If you are on Tamoxifen some of these aches and pains can be attributed to that. The fatigue can be the result of the Radiation. Since you just finished treatment less than a month ago I'm afraid you will have to put up with these symptoms for some time yet.    Regards ....
