I was told I had crystals where my scar tissue is in my breast.

Does any one know about breast crystals? It was right at my scar where I had breast cancer surgery 9 years ago. The radiologist told me he wanted me to check back in 6 months. I have a lot of pain in that breast but not where the scar tissues is. I think I need to go elsewhere. Theree has to be a reason for the pain.

This discussion is related to what are breast crystals.

Hi,
The term "Crystal" is often used by radiologists when crystals of calcium phosphate deposits (calcification) are found in the breast tissue and seen on mammography or other type of imaging.
These calcifications could occur on benign growths like a breast cysts or fibroadenomas .
Since your radiologist has recommended a 6 months follow up it indicates that these calcifications are not suspicious to warrant a biopsy.
Breast pain is not usually associated with breast cancer, but if the pain is excessive, by all means seek a second opinion preferably from a Breast Specialist.
Best wishes..
