Leakage

Ok, I am not happy with what I have read on here, so Let me try.
About a year ago, I started leaking redish green fluid from my breasts.  This scared the bejeesus out of me and so I went to my doctor.  SHe ran me for tests and all came back ok.  But it did not go away.  So she sent me for mamograms and sonograms and still nothing.  My breasts did leak when suppressed before, but this was a sticky clear to milky substance, this was redish green.  The Breast Surgen tested a swab for blood and none was present.  BTW it was my left breast, funny how it is always the left.  Now it has been a few months, I have not been able to have the ducts removed(as the Surgen recommended since he had NO CLUE what the discharge was) due to other problems. Now the leaqkage has turned from redish-green to BLACK and this is NOT NORMAL, for it was when I was doing my self exam, and at the last part when you squeeze the nipple, that is when it came out. How dare anyone say that this type of discharge is normal?  You know your body, you know when there is something wrong.  My youngest is 4 years old, and no one can give me a straight answer.  So what, I wait till Cancer developes in the meantime?  I am only 32 years old and what ever happened to Cancer Prevention? They tell me I can't have anything wrong because I am too young, but I have hot and cold flashes for no reason, and now this?  I am on NO MEDICATIONS at all, So PLEASE SOMEONE ANSWER ME STRAIGHT!

Well, When I went to the Breast Surgeon, He told me flat out thast he did not know what was comming from my breast, and tried to tell me it was normal, but I stopped him there saying if it was normal he would know what it was.  DUH!  So he told me "I think, to put your mind at ease, we could remove the ducts, not that I think trhere is anything wrong, but you will be put at ease" Then gave my husband a disgusted look when my husband asked if the removal of the ducts will change the composition of my breast, he knew I was already conserned with body image, and I have a philosophy to try to die with all my parts intact.  The Surgeon seemed disgusted with my husband as if he was a pervert!  Concidering there is a move to do before ever doing Duct removal, which is Flushing the ducts and this surgeon never brought it up, I was not very impressed with him.  I am glad my Doctor is sending me to a specialist now. I do know that the leakage is seeming to come from the left top and right bottom ducts.  Hopefully I will find out more, when I do, you will, I give my word.  :)

By removing the ducts, are you going to find out the source of the leakage? Could it be coming from another part of your body? (I think this may be a stupid question)

I would think if it were me, I would want to know what is the start-- well, where this imminates from. If Breast tissue is healthy, what is the trigger for this.

Thanks for your support!  I did goto my doctor once again and she is even concerned to the point she sent out the leakage to get cultured as there is no blood in it, it had turned to an Olive Oil Green and the consistance of oil also.  SHe is again sending me for a barage of bloodwork as well as another Mamogram and she stated that my thyroid was enlarged so she also set up for me to goto get my thyroid sonogramed.  Her point of view "If your concerned, so am I", no one had informed her I had been going threw theis for a year now, she was very angry.  She just became my Doctor in Jan, and works at a different branch of the same Healthcare facility.  She felt that that should have been a major note in my file.  My last prolactin evels were fine, and I have no medications in my system.  SHe agreed that after the new breast specialist sees me, that I should go ahead and remove the ducts if no one can get rid of this leakage threw normal ways.  And to all of you out there, ANY LEAKAGE NOT COLOSTRUM OR MILK IS BAD!!!  One way or another, either it be an infection, or worse.  If any color is in your leakage, procede to a Doctor immediately.  Be assured and if they do not know, and actually say so, then feel greatful they admit they do not know instead of trying to make up something.  Then ask your doctor to send you to someone who does know.  NEVER TAKE I DON"T KNOW, DEMAND ANSWERS!  Like I said Demand to see someone who does know.  You know when something is wrong, never let anyone tell you there is nothing wrong.  All my tests before have come back negative, but I am still demanding, because it is NOT NORMAL!

I promise to keep you all updated as to my new results as well as all my future appointments.  THis I do because I know how frightening it is when no one gives you a straight answer, your mind starts messing with you.

Personnally, I would keep bothering the docs, ask for referal to another doc.  If you are concerned, then someone needs to help you find the answer.  I'm not at all familiar with breast leakages, but I can tell you that you are not too young to get cancer.

Keep talking with your docs, get follow-ups.  I know me saying that is probably a "duh" to you.  Find another doc, ask the docs if there is someone else you can see to get this resolved.  Just bother them until somebody listens enough to discover what the problem is.  Certainly that can't be "normal".

Best of luck to you, I hope you can find the answers!
