Thank you so much for this information zouzi :)
Hi,
Fibroadenoma are benign breast tumors that may appear at any age,but they are more common in women in their twenties and thirties. These benign lumps, are not related to breast cancer in any way and are known to increase in size and tenderness in relation to the menstrual cycles due to hormonal changes.
As long as your doctor is certain that the lumps have all the characteristics of a benign fibroadenomas, then conservative management with regular follow ups is advisable. There would be no need to remove the lumps, because in many cases fibroadenomas could go away on their own within a few years.I don't think you need a biopsy if the tumors appear benign .However you could ask your doctor to perform a biopsy if it would give you peace of mind.
There are some reports stating that low fat, high fiber diets, limiting caffeine intake ( coffee, chocolate, colas) could decrease incidence of fibroadenomas.
Sometimes these benign lumps could enlarge too much or cause pain.If this happens, you could ask your doctor to have them removed..
Best wishes..
