Mamm Results

I just received my results and hope someone can tell me if the results sound ok. Report says Birad category 2 - breasts mildly dense - CAD is negative - Follow up is recommended. Is this a negitive result? My MD is closed on Fridays and I hate to spend a weekend or more waiting to check with my clinic. Thanks.

Hi,

A BIRAD 2 means that the lesion looks to be more benign and regular follow ups would be required.

You can carry on with regular breast self examinations and then follow up periodically with your doctor and also report any abnormal features you notice on breast self examination like a breast lump, nipple discharge or skin changes.

A BIRAD Score of 2 is Good. I see the word "negative" and that is good also. If you would like to research this you might put the term "BIRAD Score" in search .. the numbers go from 0 to 5 and each will be explained.
