Mammogram results

Hello. I'm 36 and had a mammogram done. Results were 50-75 dense tissue. It also said I have architecture distortion on the upper left breast. They were scheduling a month out for ultrasound and diagnostic mammogram. Due to me being so scared they are letting me come in on Monday to get these test done for peace of mind. What does this mean? Has anybody else had this? I'm so scared.. I hope it's not cancer.. Can this be a benign condition? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

This architectural distortion could be most anything. It could even be some breast tissue that has folded over on itself thus giving a distorted view on the film. Many women who have come to the Community in the past have had similar readings. There is no way to tell until the additional views (usually compression views that are targeted to that particular area) are done. That is excellent that you are being allowed to have this additional testing done so soon since scheduling a month out is not unusual. At your age it isn't unusual to have so much dense breast tissue.  Let us know when you receive more results; we always like to follow-up.   Regards ....
