Mets to Liver

We just found out today after 4 months chemo and 33 radiation treatments that ended the first week of February.  My sister has several lesions on her liver.  Can she get more treatment this fast after ending the other?  Thanks for any information you can give me.

I wish I could tell you more about your sister's condition.
The large mass in her liver could be related or not related to the symptoms she is experiencing. A PET scan will explore the possibility of cancer metastasis and if (God forbid) the cancer has spread, her Oncologist will surely plan additional treatments for her.
My heart goes out to you both during this difficult time. ....Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way for negative PET scan results.

We have an update on my sister.  She went back to ER and they did another cat scan with dye.  This time she has a very large tumor in the liver which is so big when she gets up to go to bathroom she is winded.  She goes tomorrow to get a pt scan.  The ER doctors told her that whatever is in there is growing at a rapid pace.  She also can only have a bowel movement if she takes a laxative, has blood in urine, is sick to stomach is all of this related.  She is in a great deal of pain. Why is this moving so fast? Her oncologist finally got her in for PT scan tomorrow.

Thank you so much, we are keeping the faith and praying that everything will be okay.  I am hoping her Oncologist has suggestions she was diagnosed 9 months ago with triple negative breast cancer.  Just so worried.  Thanks again for quick response.

Hi,
I'm so sorry to hear that your sister found out about the liver mets .If her Oncologist decides that she can proceed with more and perhaps a different type of Chemo or other treatments, then by all means she should follow his/her advice.
I have read many cases with liver mets that after receiving treatment, have been stable or are in remission for many years…The important thing to remember is that there is always hope because there are plenty of drugs available and options to choose from. If your sister is not sure about the recommended treatments, she can seek a second opinion that can sometimes make a difference in the path she takes.
I wish you both courage and strength and the very best …
