Pimple on nipple

My nipple was hurting and swollen, I thought it might be a pimple, so I squeezed it. There was quite a bit of white discharge and blood that came out. Could it be just that...a pimple? I have never had one actually on my nipple, I have had one on my aereola...should I be worried and go see a doctor? I am a 32 yr. old female, I don't have breast cancer in my family, but my father did pass from colon cancer and I suffer from IBS.

Hi,
I feel there is no need to press the panic button but at the same time try to be cautious. It could well be some infection down there or could also be to some injury. If you are lactating at present, possibility of infections is high.
Consult the doctor only to be sure of what you are suffering from.

Hi,
You should get yourself a clinical evaluation done even though a discharge from the nipple while a breast self exam or squeezing is not abnormal usually. The bloody discharge most probably would be due to te trauma but still needs to be investigated. You should ask your physician if you need a screening mammogram / USG to be done. Also report any other symptoms that you might have noticed - any pain / lump / tenderness to your physician. The nipple discharge if still present could be sent to the lab for further evaluation.
