Stunted breast growth

Is there such a thing as stunted breast growth? and how does it occur?
I am 18 years old and am a 34A, My Mother is a 36E, My younger 16 year old sister is a 34C/D, and my other 13 year old sister is a 32/34A. As my younger sister is such a close size to me, and my other sister is so much bigger than me this is embarrasing...
When I was 13 years old I lost 3 and a half stone, and I read that extreme weight loss during puberty can stunt breast growth, is this true?

Hi Amy_Lou...Very good comment from Katrin.Indeed the more you weigh the bigger the breasts. My daughter has normal size breasts but when she diets, her breasts too become smaller,I have a niece who is 16 years old and has very large breasts while her sister has very small ones.Like Katrin said this plays a big part in genetics. My daughter was advised to exercise the pectoral muscles and this has helped quite a bit. When you grow older and especially when you will have children, your breast will without doubt increase in size. You know dear, the bigger the breasts ,the harder they'll fall.LOL..so, if I were you, I would be happy with small breast! Take care now.

Hi, I don't know an awful lot on this topic but let me tell you what I do know. Breast size is in part genetic. I myself have almost the same body structure as my mother, but my two sisters don't and are built very differently and more like the women on my father's side. I have much bigger breasts than they do. They have never struggled with weight, i have.

Usually also, the more weight you put on, the more weight your breasts have. So lets say I were to lose 20 pounds, my breasts would also get smaller. So, thin women, and especially those who excercise excessively, tend to have smaller breasts.

it is possible that your growth was interrupted by anorexia, but usually these growth stunts are not permanent, but they could cause delay. i.e. my 19 year old son, when he was 16/17 did not even have pubic hair and he was short for his age. Now, he  is over 6 feet and full of hair and it seemed like it all happened over night.

Hope this helps a little,

katrin
