Hi Amrine :)

I had one treatment with that drug but had allergic reaction to it. I didn't have extra joint or bone pain with it, for me the A/C caused the worst of that pain. I know a lot of women who are taking Taxol and say it's a lot easier on them than A/C. And they are also taking herceptin.

I hope you're doing well. Try not to worry so much, see how the first one is, ok? You know each chemo does different side effects to EACH different person. Be well my friend.

I was supposed to have 4xEC followed by 4X Taxol but I had a really bad reaction to the taxol, severe bone pain could hardly move, also was absolutely wiped out exhausted and had tingling in my fingers and numbness in feet. I know the chemo is meant to be hard but I did raise it with my oncologist and he took me off it. I suggest if you have really bad symptoms like this it is worth mentioning it. However, I then had two more EC and to be honest that got harder too, but at least it is only a short period and once it is over you should regain your energy. There is light at the end of the tunnel I just got there.

Remember the chemo is there to help you ultimately so if the pain and exhaustion or other side effects are really bad ask for a second opinion if your onc does not listen.

No personal experience here but you know that not everyone experiences the same side effects from any drug. If the only problem you have after Chemo is a "feeling" then you can consider yourself VERY lucky indeed. Perhaps if there is a support group in your area, that might help. Sharing experiences with others can be very beneficial. You might ask at the Oncologist's office or call your local Hospital. Regards ...
