Ultrasound report

Hi I am 21 year old student, I had felt the lump in my left breast and went to the doctor and got my Ultrasound done, following are the findings,

1. 3.7x2.6cm ill defined hypoechoic lesion seen upper outer quadrant of left breast extending to 12 'O clock position.

2. Normal distribution of paraenchymal and fatty tissue in left breast.

3. No solid mass lesion is seen in left breast.

4. No cystic lesion is seen in left breast.

5. No abscess formation is present in left breast.

6. No axillary lymphadenopathy is present.

IMPRESSIONS: Ultrasound features are suggestive of "Mastitis of left breast"

Please someone guide me what the 1st finding is all about and how much it is to be taken as a real cancer concern?

Please help.

Thank you so much dear Zouzi, I am visiting my doctor tomorrow morning to show her the report and for any medicines/treatment she recommends, and will surely post the follow up here.

Beast regards.

Hi,
An ill defined lesion ( first finding) means that the lesion has no clear outline and Hypoechoic is a term used by Radiologist for a lesion that blocks ultrasound waves and makes a shadow on the ultrasound image.
It is always best to call your doctor about interpreting your Ultrasound results especially since Mastitis (infection) has been reported by your radiologist. Your Doctor will have to see you to prescribe an antibiotic to clear the infection. The rest of the findings are just fine and you really shouldn’t be concerned about breast cancer at all.
Best wishes..
