My annual mammogram results showed a density which required additional films. The spot compression results were as follows: "Despite a negative ultrasound, the additonal views confirm the presence of a noldular opacity in the upper central aspect of the left breast at approximately 12 o'clock location. Recommend follow up MRI to further evaluate. Alternatively one might consider biopsy." The MRI was done and didn't show anything, but my doctor recommended that I see a surgeon. I am 61 years old, and have had annual mammograms since age 50 with no abnormalities. I am very worried and wonder why the MRI didn't show anything if the nodule persisted on the mammogram. Thank you for any comments.
