indent on breast?

I have an indention in my left breast,right above my nipple. its like a hole. I have family history on my mother's side of breast cancer. Besides cancer what else could it be?

Here in our Community we try NOT to alarm anyone further than they are already ..... we try to alleviate some of the anxiety by first advising a visit to their Physician and then mention all the possibilities that may cause the symptoms OTHER than Breast Cancer.    Thanks .....

Hi,
If you have noticed an indentation/dimple in your breast,I would advise you to see your doctor for evaluation,because the formation of a lump can sometimes pull the skin into the breast causing the dimple.Dimpling can certainly occur from benign causes...The majority of  lumps are not malignant,  but without evaluation it's impossible to speculate on what is causing it.
Any changes that occur in the breast  should never be ignored so please make an appointment to see your Doctor soon for a breast exam and if need be an Ultrasound to determine the cause of the indentation.
