please assure me

I went day before yesterday for my baseline mammogram.  The mammogram fast forwarded me into an ultrasound and then the recommendation for a biopsy. Everyone has been consoling me that 85% of all biopsies are benign. I picked up the report to take to the surgeon today. It sounds really scary.  My appointment with the surgeon is next week.  I am going crazy today.  Is there a chance this could be benign?  If not, how bad do you think it will be?

mammography impression: 2.5cm lobulated mass with associated microcalcifications in the mid left breast suspicious of primary breast carcinoma- recommend left breast ultrasound and biopsy

ultrasound impression: 3.1 slightly hypoechoic (solid) nodule with irregular margins at the 12 o'clock position - highly suspicious of primary breast carcinoma.

my BIRAD score is 5.  I know, very bad.  That is why I am so scared.  I was just hoping for hope.

Hi.
Mammogram is a recommended screening procedure.  The result of mammogram is reported as BIRADS score.  Depending on the result/score, further diagnostic procedures can be recommended.  For other details in BIRADS scoring, you may visit http://biradsclass.blogspot.com.
Your mammogram showed suspicious breast carcinoma.  An ultrasound of the breast confirms the presence of a solid mass.  You should have a biopsy done in order to have a more definite diagnosis.  Further treatment will depend on the biopsy result.
Take care.
