Thank you so much. I also received a call today from my primary Dr. I Love her. She called just to make sure I was ok and not spazing out. What Dr does that now a-days? She is so great. She said the same thing you said. I feel so much better. ( I was kinda spazing out).
Thanks so much for your support, will let cha know what happens.
Hi,
When a mammogram shows a density that needs further investigation, the first thing that occurs is to compare the current mammogram to older mammograms to see if anything has changed. If changes have occurred, then the next step is to do a spot compression mammogram to focus on the area of concern.
The fact that you have been called back for additional tests is very common...Sometimes it's just skin tissue that has folded over on itself and looks like a density.
A spot compression will often smooth out the tissue and the "density" will disappear.Often, a second mammogram will confirm that all is okay.
FYI,women with a family history of breast cancer (mother sister) make up only 5 to 7 percent of all women with breast cancer. As you can see your risk is not that high.
I hope that all will be just fine with your diagnostic mammogram if the radiologist recommends it after comparing the films.
Please let us know how things are proceeding.
Best wishes and the best of luck!...
