Brain Cancer

On Feb 1 my sister had a black out in grocery store. They transported her to hospital and ran some tests. and found nothing. 3 days later they did an MRI and found a 3 cm brain tumor which they removed a day later. Turned out it is gioblastomia. Right side near temple. She has been doing radiation and Chemo. She has 2 more days of radiation left. But will continue the Chemo pill. They will do another scan in 1 month. She says she feels fine, and absolutely refuses to believe she will die. How long do you think she has? We live far away and I want to see her before she dies. My other sister ha ben taking her to treatment and she says she is very confused and just talks off the wall. And repeats herself a lot. Is this from the radiation?

Hospital sent her home on Friday and she was back in the hospital on Monday morning with still a high fever. She is having severe headache. They now have her on morphine and they are calling in an infectious specialist to see if they can find out where the bacteria is coming from. Thank you for your response.

My sister had a MRI done and came back abnormal (which e figured would happen. We talked to her Dr on Monday and he started her on a double dose of Chemo pill. Yesterday Wednesday, she was put back into the hospital. She was having a lot of pain, severe headache, and fever of 103.
They said she has a bacterial infection. They called last night to get permission to do a spinal. They are trying to find out were the infection is coming from. I have not been able to talk to her but was told she is disoriented and confused. Could this be from the cancer or chemo? I know the Chemo runs down your immune system. If she does have meningitis will anyone in contact need to be checked too?
Thank you for your help! Greatly appreciated!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How is your sister? I understand your concern regarding this but it is difficult to say the exact time because of several factors. The type of glioblastoma, treatment, presence of other medical conditions, symptoms as well as her overall response to treatment are important considerations. Prognosis usually depends on the median survival rates and may range from months to years. It is best that you talk to her attending physician for proper evaluation. Take care and best regards.
