Ca19-9

Hi for the past few years I have had my ca19-9 number checked with my yearly blood tests during physical. My mom died from pancreatic cancer at age 72. My number has always been raised right now it is 60 the highest being 73. I've had 2 ct scans done and they have been fine. They did see I have gallstones that I did not know I had as they do not bother me. I'm having another blood test in one month if my number is still raised doctor wants to do more test . Should I be worried I have some kind of cancer? Also could my gallstones be causing my number to rise? Thank you

Your gallstones along with any other benign biliary issues can cause a CA19-9 elevation. Followup MRIs is the std procedure. Hope you remain well.
