Cancer concerns

I have a hard movable pink lump in the roof of my mouth on roof left side near front doesn't hurt. Could not pierce it. I was at the dentist less than two months ago and it was not detected. Am 35 year old female, smoked for about three years but quit about 15 years ago. What could it be and should I wait to have it checked or get it checked asap? Thanks
