Piece of medical history

Hi there, so basically for the past 4 years I have had a hard immovable lump latched in to the back of my ear and through months of online searching I have came to the conclusion of an encapsulated sarcoma. This lump is smooth and has never grown or changed shape in any way. the nodes nearby have also always been enlarged. I have seen countless doctors about this and absolutely not one is concerned about anything in the area. I feel this is because the lump itself is actually hard to feel for as its in the groove behind your ear. But I've seen specialists too, an oncologist and an ENT specialist and both weren't concerned. I am so certain that this is cancer though as I don't know what else it can be(due to the Internet) that I have pushed it to the point where the ENT doctor is referring me for a CT scan on the mastoid region.his words were, "I am 100% certain nothing sinister will show up in this scan and you can see me a couple days after it and I will give you absolute reassurance. There is no way you have a sarcoma in that region as there is as much chance of me having one there as their is you, never in my 15 years as an ENT surgeon have I ever heard or seen a sarcoma of the mastoid process" I should take complete reassurance from that but I know I will prove everyone wrong as I just truly don't know what else it could be regardless of no growth or change.

I meant to say warm olive oil or warm distilled water with peroxide injections.
If you need details let me know.

OK, fair enough.
The way I deal with mine is that because it has been there for so long and has not caused me any symptoms, has not changed a bit, I simply ignore it!
My health is great, I feel real good and I truly have no concerns.

The only issue that I have occasionally is some ear blockage, which is due to a very narrow middle ear opening, likely harboring some germs and causing me some temporary discomfort.
A few times I also experienced swollen lymph nodes around that area, as well.

Since I practice holistic health, I use some simply natural remedies, like warm olive oil, peroxide or warm distilled water injections and prevention to deal with that.

And if I would not have made this choice to ignore this lump, what would have been the outcome, had this ended up being a malignant growth? Have a biopsy and take the risk  of the cancer cells spreading?
Surgery, radiation, chemotherapy?
No thanks, I'll take my chances by ignoring it!

I'm at peace with my choices and I hope the same for you.

And also when you read up on cancerous lumps they are described as hard and immovable...

I thank you for your kindness but it's just so hard to get over this as I literally can't think of anything else it could be mainly due to the nearby lymph nodes. If they were never enlarged I would never have questioned this lump. And I do get aches in the ear and it pops every so often which is annoying. It's just all so difficult

OK jambo53.
It's time to put it to rest now.
You have no symptoms, no pain, no changes and nothing came out from all the tests and medical investigations so far. Right?
I'm concerned about the fact you "want" to find them something like a sarcoma, to prove everyone wrong!
I do hope for your sake that they don't!
If you see all the time and effort you have put in this, looking for a "satisfactory" answer, as a justification for your quest, I'm afraid your views on all this are distorted.
As I mentioned before  l have since childhood in the same spot an asymptomatic lump similar to yours that you're obsessing about ,.
It's been so long, I can't remember how it even started!

If there's something you need to do is to address it's your anxiety, stress and obsessive behavior and I'm saying this in a truly honest way out of concern and not intending to put you down.
Your life will unfold in a much nicer way, regardless of the challenges that life presents you (we all go through many challenges in life) by taming those
mental "beasts".
If you recognize this as a personal issue, then consider posting at the OCD,
Anxiety or Stress Communities.
Best wishes,
Niko
