Swollen Lymph Nodes PLEASE RESPOND!!!!

I am 17 years old, and my lymph nodes have been swollen for 4 years. Non stop. There are some that come and goo quite often, but two have remained almost solid for 4 years.
I keep telling my parents that i think something might be wrong, because they aren't supposed to swell like that, and they just tell me that its probably nothing, so I have not been to a doctor for it.

Thats why I need someone to respond.

What could this mean? Why could my lymph nodes be swollen for so long?

PLEASE help me.

thank you so much,
Lauren

all I know is my daughter got extremely stressed when she entered college and all the nodes under her arms were swollen. They just gave her a shot in her butt and she was fine after that. The doctor has six kids. I'm sure you'll be fine.
