Hello, my mother who is 73 was diagnosed with a T9 lesion. She has had horrible back pain for about 6 months in her lower back. She has no female organs and had ovarian cysts years ago. She is scheduled for a T9 Biopsy and Kypluplosly (mispelled?). Should I be worried? Could she have bone cancer?
Thanks,
Rhonda
You're welcome. Feel free to post.
Thank you so much for the feedback!!! She has not complained of any back pain and to my knowledge there is no known history of arthritis or scoliosis or postural problems. If ok with you I will keep you updated. No worries until I have to worry. Thanks again!!!
Hi,
Its very unlikely that the T9 lesion is evidence that the ovarian cysts are malignant.
Ovarian cancers tend to spread locally, bone is not a common site involved. If any bone is involved, it is more likely pelvic - the T9 seems pretty far.
The back pain is likely due to arthritis. Find out if she has any predisposing condition for early arthritis such as postural problems, scoliosis.
Stay positive.
