What can a black dot in the mouth mean?

Hi :) ! A few days after getting two dental screenings from separate dentists (on two separate dates) for a pricing on braces, I got a pain on my inner lip wall. I checked today to see that there is a black discolored dot next to where a canker sore is. I currently have 2 canker sores on each side of my mouth and one on my tongue. No biggie to me initially as I've had a long history with sores, but my worries rely on the black dot. I am a young adult female, 5 ft, with brown complexion. What can this be if it is most likely not cancer?

Hello and welcome to the forum.  Thanks for asking your question.  Sorry you have this concern.  It's always best to have a doctor look at things that worry you to be safe.  Could this be a blood blister?  From your description it sounds like it could be.  And perhaps it happened during the dental prodding at the appointments for braces?  Here's some information on that. https://www.healthline.com/health/blood-blister-in-mouth  The article also gives some other examples of what it could be but blood blister matches best from your description.  Take a look and let me know what you think.  Is it sore at all?
