Hello i am a seventy-one year old male with a similar condition as Sam00007 above.During my annual physical i mentioned this condition to my GP and he confirmed what had happened, currently I would describe the situation as uncomfortable. In further discussion what my options were I was advised surgery would be risky because of COPD which is controlled with medication.Would a truss help?Do I have any other choices .Please let me know THKS.

Hi.  The symptoms you described fit a diagnosis of an hernia very closely (not testicular cancer).  An hernia is a condition where there is a weakening of the abdominal wall muscles, causing the abdominal contents (e.g. the bowels) to bulge out through the abdominal wall or sink into the scrotum.  The testicle seems to enlarge as the bowels descend and occupy the scrotal sac.  Pain can occur when the bowels get squeezed through the smaller compartment.
