Hi,
Thanks for the update. Were you able to see the surgeon? The lump may be benign or serious and biopsy will help determine the underlying cause. Take care and stay positive. Do keep us posted with the biopsy result. All the best.
Thank you for your response. No signs of infection. Dr prescribed Augmentin 875 mg BID. for 10 days. No response. Blood work done. WBC count low, RBC count low, . Pain in neck with throbbing sensations at times. Cat scan done does not show lymph glands swollen but lump is there. Trying to get into surgeon for biopsy and a onocologist.
Hi,
What other symptoms are present? The most common cause of swollen glands or lymph nodes is infection. This may include infection in the head such as in the ear, tonsils, gums or teeth and even the skin in these parts or other conditions such as autoimmune conditions and even malignancy. Pain medications may help provide relief. However, If it persists, diagnostic tests such as blood tests and direct physical examination may need to be done. Antibiotics may be indicated for bacterial infections. Take care and do keep us posted.
