painful inner leg bump

I have this bump on my inner thigh in the crotch area and it is reddish color and hurts when I touch it. It's firm and about the size of a pea. I'm pretty sure its under the skin, and I'm afraid it might be cancerous or something... can anyone tell me what it might be?

I don't feel any different then I usually do, besides the slight pain on the bump. My family doesn't have a history of cancer. I put my cell phone in my right pocket near where the bump is... I'm afraid that might be the problem but I don't know. I might see the doctor sometime next week if it doesn't go away. The bump is kind of bothersome though.

It could be a boil, which starts under the skin and will eventually become pus-filled and you will be able to pop it. It could be a number of things. Is there cancer in your family? How have you been feeling lately? It is also possible that it is a lymph node, we have many in our groin areas, they can become enlarged and are able to be felt under the skin when our bodies are fighting infection.
