Heart dieases risk and my homocysteine levels HCY

Doctor, Thank u in adv for your time.To give u a brief history of me:36yo,male, 5'10,210lb,fairshape, NEVER SMOKED/drugs,&rarely drink. Family hist- Grandfather had stroke in70's.My parents r in their 60's no issus.
I recently had a cardio work up b/c I was inbest health in years(wanted to get best rate on Life Ins). I followed a diet  called "Heart healthy revolution" which focus on B vits & DASH diet.my weight dropped from 240 to 210& I felt much better.Prior to this diet my cholest(total 230) and BP was low boarderline.I was so happy with my weight loss& how i felt I decidedto get all MY BLOOD WORK COMPLETED.This is what it showed:
Cholestrol: HDL52 - LDL 101 an TOTAL was around 170's
TRIS- 105
SUGAR WAS GREAT(CANT REMEBER)
C-REACTIVE CRP - .3 (yes VERY LOW UNDER 1)
homocysteine -  THIS WAS THE SHOCKER  21.0  (I ALMOST FEEL OVER)
BLOOD PRES AVE 120/70
EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FINE ON MY BLOOD WORK

I did have a EKG and a STREE ECHO from my CARDIO too.. (ALL WAS GREAT)- competed 14mins Bruce proto)
Well I did not let my HIGH homocysteine put me down! I decided to go out and BUY 150$ worth of homocysteine reducing supplements(B vitamens, TMG, Chorine- everything would be 1000% of DV), but then I thought to myself wait WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT B VITAMEN BLOOD LEVELS before u take 1000's to 5000% HIGH THAN DAILY AMOUNTS

So I decided to have VIT BLOOD LEVELS check & I was shocked because my BLOOD LEVELS were HIGH
B12- 500-700(cant remember)
B6- 70's VERY HIGH(almost toxic)
Folate- >26(VERY HIGH)
everything else mag, zinx, iodine- were fine..
So now I was at a loss.. My CARDIO Doctor said "Dont stress about it and DONT TAKE HIGH AMOUNTS OF FOLATE b/c it has been shown to be bad for your HEART.. He said keep eating healthy and exercise. He said more than likely u have the ?MUT? something GENE and even if u lower your homocystein levels it may not lower ur risk.I AM stressed about this. Should I get 2nd opinion?  He said 20% of populat have it?
THANKS.Don

Well.. After re-reading your answer it appears ur answer s just like mst of these suppemet site.. "Buy my book and take B- supplments so  can get prostate cancer"..

You totally ignored the fact that i gave u my results from my B level blood test..Plus u never talked about my possible GENE varient...

What made things worse is I spent 20$ for u to give me a 10 sec answer..

Thnanks.

Opps.. I almost forgot ...So am I considered "Hyperhomocysteinemia "???  It was my understanding there is a difference of having a HIGH HCY level and having Hyperhomocysteinemia .. I thought people who have a HCY level of over 100 can have major issues, but people with HIGH levels such as myself 15+ thru under 100 is like a flip of a coin- if can, but it may not - It just ANOTHER RISK FACTOR LIKE CANCER IS TO SMOKERS
THere is so many  articals/studys on Homocysteine sorta contridict themselves, plus u gotta weed through all the SUPPLEMENT SPAM out there...   This is real depressing.. I guess i gotta make the best of it because it can always be worse

thanks

Well thanks for taking the time to answer my question.. I guess u got right to the point, but I will RETEST and hope for the best and then take it from there... Can u please give me a a few quick answsers??
1)Should I take the urine test as well or just the blood test?

2) Also considering my B- vitamen results as u can see i was already HIGH. If my homocysteine is still high and my B- vitamen blood levels are HIGH(like they are) should  still take a "folban"?

3) Is it true that 20+ of  US POPULATION have HIGH HOMOCSTEINE levels such as myself

4) could my general anexity be causing my HOMOCYSTEINE levels to raise?

Thanks again
Don

Very good question with all of the appropriate numbers. I would repeat the homocysteine. because I have occasionally seen these high in the face of all other normal parameters. If this isolated elevation persists then the management is your option. If you were older with an elevated risk profile (cardiac) then I would treat with foltyx or folban (b12, b6, folic acid supplement). Since you are young it is a more difficult decision. If you have the gene, then you should consider either foltyx or injection (Id recommend monthly injection) because you are at higher risk for thromboembolic phenomneon. Do not buy cheap over the counter supplements. they are pretty much useless. Youll require physician grade.  My book Your Guide to Optimal Health: Creating Your Guide to Optimal Health (amazon.com, personwellnesswheel.com) elaborates on this treatment regimen.
