What should a post "open" carpal tunnel incision feel like

I am 4 weeks post operation for open carpal tunnel release surgery.  What should the incision feel like at this point?  Mine is stiff and feels like the incision does not flex when I bend my wrist backwards.  It is like a stiff rubber band stretching.  It has minor sourness when touched but does not appear to be infected.  I have full mobility and message the incision two times a day.  I have full feeling in my fingers but get quick shooting pains once in a  while.  My main concern is the stiff feeling normal.  The stiffness has felt the same since day one.
