gpt for cats

i got the results back from my cat test. he started out as 190 for gpt. 54 for got. so the vet gave me some pills. it went down to 168fot gpt. he wants me to put him back on the pills. my question is. can my cat live like this. the vet said if it gets to high i might have to have suregery done on him. he also wants or maybe keep him on the pills foreever. at 33 dollars a month. it would probale be beeter to have the opertion. at whta point is to high for the gpt to have this done. or could he live at 190. and what would happen to him if it got higher.

hi, I'm sorry I can't answer your question about your cat, I would suggest you post this on the 'holistic cat forum' and see if Dr. Osborne can answer this for you.
Good luck.♥

As you can see you have received excellent advice above and if all that fails to help dogs are fun!

I had thought about the fish oil aspect but I was reminded of a study by Sylvester and Katz,  el al which warned of seisures and the potential onset of catatonic lethargy with excessive doses.

I'm not sure that your question can be adequately answered in a Hepatis forum, but I'll give it a try.  First, it needs to stop drinking alcohol immediately.  Although it's fairly obvious, many cat owners overlook this precaution.  Also avoid any feline foods that might include tuna that might contain mercury.  Lastly, see a qualified Vet who might recommend a CATscan or a PETscan.  Good luck.

You somehow managed to post in the Hep C forum; and nope, this isn't like Hep Cat. I think Medhelp has a veterinary forum somewhere.
