Cat Names & Nicknames Thread

Why Not? The Dog forum is having fun with this, so why shouldn't we? :)

Perhaps if someone is looking for a new pet name, they can get it from one of us right out of this ol' thread here.
now, i'm going to list out some names and nicknames in groups, as they come to me. We try to never recycle a name here, which has led to some unusal names over the years (Like the time we took in three tabbys and called them "This, That, (the other) Thing." :)

We had a male Siamese named Ari and a female named Tira.  A friend has a big Siamese male named Crispin and a delicate little chocolate point named Ariana.

Well, I came on here looking for a name for a Siamese that we haven't already used. When I was a kid, we had one named Sylvester and his brother Chema. Then about 15 yrs ago I had a Himalayan named Ouija, (yes, like the Ouija board) and her brother Haji.  Later on I had a Siamese, and kinda turned Haji around and called him Jihad. (I know, I know, might be controversial)... We also had at one time a pair of beautiful long haired black and white brothers we called Cheech and Chong. (aka Right shoe and Left shoe) was kind of a joke, my b/f at the time said if they ever died, he'd make houseshoes out of them. I've had black cats named Taboo, Bandit, Salem, and my present one is named Velcro. (she's 12 yrs old now, sweetest cat EVER) Named her that because she has such long claws and when you pick her up, she clings like velcro to whatever she's laying on......I've had other black and white ones named Domino, Guiseppe Le Pieux, 'Seppe for short, Tsunami, 'Nami for short, (He was born when the tsuanami's hit back in 2004(?) and we thought it would be funny to go outside and yell "TSUNAMI" and see how many people would come out to look.) And the black and white we have right now is Panda because her markings on her back look just like a Giant Panda when she's curled up. We've had grey tabbies with the usual names, Tigger, Tiger, but also Pablo,   Gomez, Chavez, Apollo and Molly....And grey tabbies with white, Gracie, Mitzi, Madonna, Patches, and Chewy.(short for Chewbacca). I've had orange Tabbies named Milo, little Milo and baby Milo, Rusty, Wilson, and a creamy orange and white named Spongebob, who is 13 yrs old and "special". We thought he was retarded as a kitten, but then learned that he's almost blind. He's an outside cat because he doesn't groom himself and sheds like crazy, but he's outlived many others over 13 years. (We live outside the city limits) So then we get to calicos. We've had Precious, Sabrina, Felicia, Fancy, and Bella. Solid gray ones, Smokey and Sammy, and Dusty. The only solid white one I ever had was named Puff Daddy, aka P.Kitty. Beautiful long haired white one that one day just couldn't stand up, and then couldn't eat or drink, and I had to have him put down. Still don't know what killed him, maybe got poisoned? And so now, back to why I came on here, looking for a Siamese name that we haven't used already. Any suggestions??

kiki who is a dsh she is black calico
kiki b*tch kitty b/c she hisses and swats when ever she near olie
and our newest Oliver long haired tabby
olie, olie olie oxen free (sp?), and dh has his own for olie: fur balls, fuz nuts, *** blaster (bad gas as a kitten, and ended up squirting a little poo on me after he farted then booked to litter box)

Hi everyone,
My previous cat I called Isosceles (I was a Math teacher at the time) everyone loved the name.  I even had a student who said "you named him after the shape of his ears".  I didn't but was happy he knew what Isosceles meant!  I nicknamed him "Saucy".  I lost him about 10 years ago.
I just ventured into getting a new kitten a few weeks ago.  A beautiful tortoiseshell.  I call her Jewel. I've had Jewel since she was 2 mos old she turns 3 mos on October 1.  She is a quite a bit more "lively" than my previous cat hence the horrible nickname "Devil Cat".  She literally whips around my house at full speed and whips up the curtains and onto my piano, and onto shelves with treasures. Even as I type this she jumped on my back with her claws.  I'm hoping she settles down when she gets older.  Although she is very cuddly, and purrs so loud you can hear her from across the room.

Sorry, didn't mean to vent on here last night. I'm usually pretty tolerant but last night just took the cake. I had just bought that clay pot and set it on the table and stepped away and she knocked it over and broke it. Sigh. She does test my patience!

I call my daughter's cat Brat Cat, too. She really is a brat! I sure was not happy with her tonight. Grr. She broke a brand new clay pot I had just bought! I hadn't even been home for 5 minutes and she broke it!

My other cat is a different story. She never gets in trouble. She's my baby. :)

Sometimes I call one or the other cat a "brat cat" Usually geared towards Waldo. He has a thing for looking practically lifeless, laying right in the middle of a path - until both of us leave the table for a second. Then he's up there trying to pull whatever is up there on the ground to eat. He knocks over garbage cans if given the chance... He's even knocked over a small metal can and gotten it open.

White Cat + Outdoors = Dirty Girl! :)

our fur baby's name is venus. we originally thought she was a he so "his" name was mars buuutttt then we realized oh it's a girl and changed it to venus. (should have left it mars....and yes i have a thing for roman and greek gods) i call her snot ball, monster, fat cat, bad cat, fuzz butt, stinky @$$, psycho and crazy cat. when i'm mad i call her venus aphrodite (yes i know venus and aphrodite are technically the same goddess) wampler....

when we get the g.s. puppy if it's a he his name will be aries mars (yes again same god different cultures) wampler if it's a girl her name will be Athena Sasha (sasha was greg's old german shepherd) wampler.

I call Jade "Cutie," my husband calls her "Punkin" or "The Punkinator" and we both call her "Punkinhead."

She knows when I come up with a new one that I'm still talking about her.  I love it that she learned the German phrases that I've repeated to her enough times.  She knows I'm talking about her, regardless of which language I'm speaking.  I'll say:  Bist du eine Katze?  Bist du meine Katze?  It's pretty awesome that she has figured out that she is a Katze and a Fluffmeister.

It took me months to think of a name for my little black cat...I finally settled on Atticus, which turned into Atticus Catticus, which turned into Atticus Catticus Finch III, until finally Atticus Kitty Catticus Finch III.  Nicknames include:  Kitty, Catticus, Kitty Catticus, Atticus Catticus, and Mr. Finch Fuzzy-Pants

we called him Junior after his dad and my daughter who was three at the
time called him "tickles" because his whiskers tickled her
so we combined it inot TJ
