Cat sniffling after dental procedure

I posted about a week ago about my cat rubbing her face in things after her teeth extraction (24 teeth out, jaw was slightly fractured from periodontal disease, bad disease in mouth and more). Today makes it a week since her surgery and she's started to sniffle a lot and some clear snot has come out. I'm concerned since the upper fangs are so close to the nasal cavity. I thought if anything was wrong with her nose I would see signs in a couple days. Could this be her nasal cavity having issues? I'm taking her to the vet in three days and I don't want to put more stress on her by forcing her into the carrier now. Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Rob, I hope I've caught you before you've left.  Your kitty was given the long lasting antib shot 'Convenia'.  I am leaving the link about this drug below.  Please keep a very close eye on your girl.  Because Convenia stays in kitty's system so long (something like 60 days), if she were to have a reaction, it would be difficult to reverse.  As far as the URI goes, I hope your girl is feeling better.  Please make it a point to read the link I've provided.  Also, be sure to have "NO CONVENIA" written in red in her chart.  This drug is not good.

Thank you Jade. She has been improving very well and is feeling much better. I knew there were risks to the drug but the vet and I thought it would be best since she is semi ferrel. My parents are keeping a close eye on her and she's even being affectionate with them. Ill make sure they keep an extra close eye just to be sure! Thanks again!

She has a Uri. Sorry for the late response. They can't give her any medication since she got a shot when she had her surgery that lasts two weeks and is an antibiotic. I've had the humidifier running almost constantly since my room tends to be dry and the vet gave me a liquid to put into her food that'll add extra nutrients since she is not eating too well. She's been very scared since her check up, I tried to bring her into the bathroom while I shower and the poor girl had an accident from fear. My biggest concern is I'm leaving the country for 3 weeks in two days and feel so guilty leaving her like this(my parents are caring for her but she doesn't really like anyone but me). I've made a list of the vet and an emergency animal hospital Incase the worst happens. Other than the cold she is healing very well from her surgery and a lot of her stitches have already come out! Thanks for your concern.

I'm not at all sure what could be wrong, sorry but we're not Vets here...only other Pet parents. If I were you I would just call your Vet and ask him/her. She may need an antibiotic but I would think if it's an infection the discharge wouldn't be clear it would have a greenish color. Hope everything proves to e ok, poor girl has had enough issues. Plz keep us posted xoxo

I know I figured it was my best bet until her vet appointment tomorrow. I called the vet today and she believes it's an upper respiratory infection. Sadly if it is there's nothing the vet can do since she got a two week antibiotic shot. She was doing worse this morning but I decided to put a humidifier in my room and she seems a bit better and has started to eat a little again. Hopefully the vet can find some way to help her once she sees her. Thanks for your concern I will post tomorrow after the vet and I appreciate your input. :)
oh thats too bad, a URI can be brought on by stress, and she's had lots....the antibiotic will help with that, but her immune system has to do alot of the work too. a humidifier will help for sure, but the best thing you can do to help clear her nasal passages is to bring her in the bathroom and run a nice steamy shower(door closed) get the room nice and steamy and leave her in there for half an hour 2-3 x's a day...that will really help. hope she's feeling better real soon. let us know what the Vet said. xoxox
