Hi Everyone, My name is Ruben and I am new to the group.  I have 9 cats and one stray.  I live in the mountains of West Virginia and many people dump there cats on our property.  They find there way to our house and my wife and I take them in and raise them.  Some come and some go but they always stay for a while.  We have arrangements with our local Vet.  to make sure they have shots and fixed at a cheap rate.  We have had as many as 18 cats.  Our 9 cats are not strays.  We have five out doors and four in doors.  We love our cats, they give us comfort and even thought they are all individuals with their own characters, they all come to us and want their individual attention.  In return, they sleep on us.  Oh yes, and they all have us trained too!  Every morning they want milk and it must be nuked in the micro-wave.  They all perform tricks every morning and talk to us out loud so we know "They want it Now".  Anyway, we have one cat named ChillyPop (a black cat) and before he was disappeared for 2 weeks.  He finally made it home and he was injured bad.  Hit by a car, he had his back legs pulled out of his hip sockets, knees completely shattered, his femor was fractured and he crawled home crying.  We did not have the heart to have him put to sleep so I found a Vet that performed surgery on him.  He has pins in his leg and in the winter it bothers him but we are happy that he is a regular cat now.  I hope you don't mind if I post some pic's of my babies from time to time.  This is Chilly Pop b4 his injury.

I'm sure you have  lots to tell us and cute pictures as well.
The one you posted at the top is a lovely kitten - well, everybody here nows I'm crazy for black ones - they now remind me my girls at that age...
And cats are always cute - even when they are not :-) _  I guess you know what I mean...

Glad to have you on the forum.  I'm sure you have tons of knowledge to share w/ everyone.  The more knowledge, the better!!  LOL

You and your wife are really doing a wonderful thing, and I'm so glad that you have an awesome vet that's willing to help out, too.

Thx Jade...I am just trying to figure this site out.  I really haven't spent a long time on it but I like the set-up and I am trying to organize stuff...kind of the OCD in me.  I love photography and have numerous hobbies.  I am always looking for a photoshoot and love the animals and of course my cats...I can get this site at work...one of the few not place off limits so I can read and make comments all day and I like to blog everyday...mostly of short stories that I like.  I hope you don't mind Jade but I am going to add you as a friend...

Hey Ruben, thanks so much for sharing all your photos.  Your cats are beautiful.  I love how they each have their own special collar and tag.  I'm sorry for the ones who passed.  Man, you've got the photo thing wired.  When I first looked, there were just pics of your kitties and now ALBUMS of pics.  Right on!

Hi Ruben and welcome to the forum!  Thanks for sharing your story.  You are a blessing to those poor cats who have been dumped off.  How wonderful your vet will work with you.  I'm so sorry to hear of Chilly Pop's terrible injuries, but sounds like he's doing alright considering.  I know I can speak for the forum in saying we would all LOVE to see pictures of your kitties so please feel free to post away!
