Kitten Hits Head

So, my 6 week old Kitten hit his head against the wall pretty hard. He doesn't walk around as much and when he does, he wobbles when standing up and or walking in a circle.  I put him in front of a sunny window and his eyes went slit. It just seems that his reaction time is slowed and was wondering if their is anything else I could do myself to see if the kitten has just bumped his head and is just got a "kitty headache" or if it is a real problem, that a vet should be taking care of..

Also what would be a time frame to determine to bring him to a vet?

kitty has more than a headache.  Continue to keep a close eye on him.  Because those are symptoms of concussion and he still may need vetrinary care.  If you are doing it this month anyway.  Why not go now just to be safe?

I am very glad to hear that the kitten is doing better.

Just remember that your kitten needs to be seen soon by the veterinarian for a routine kitten examination, vaccinations and dewormings.   I wouldn't wait a whole year...he should be seen within the next 2-3 weeks.

Take care...have a great weekend!

After a few of hours of rest for the little guy, he is running around like a crazy kitten playing with his brother. We intend to take him to a vet within the year for a check up for CoopnClyde..

Thank You for you insight and advice.

Hi...sounds like your kitty needs to see a veterinarian.  Even if the head bump turns out to be nothing, its a good time to start talking about what vaccines will be needed, to deworm your little guy and to get him a good physical exam.

Most kittens are pretty steady on their feet by 6 weeks of age, so I would be concerned if he can't stand well on his own.

Let me know what happens...
