After trying a new clothe - nylon socks one that she also lickened I got afraid of her eating too much treads ( not about the stitches cos she licks the superior part of the body) and wenr for a collar
That was NOT FUNNY since I had to go to the shop 3 times in a hurry cos it was weekend and they close earlier
First n1 was small 2nd n1 was big and finally I pick the n2 first trade mark - that I guess is ok -BUT SHE DIDNT ACCEPT ( started walking backside
Tried putting her a kind of scarf but besides become a lot weird was not working very well. After calling another vet for help she suggested a t-shirt sleeve clothe, thats what she s using at this moment.
Clothe issue seens solved by now but Im afraid she had already eaten to much treads , shes eating much less and pooing less than usual this 2 last days.Drinks and pee a lot as usual. But its not "attacking " me for food as usual!
Surgical place is well protected - it means I cannot see. Shes supposed to keep that for a week, stitches wont need to be removed.
Its a lot hot here but everytime I fell pity for she's been keeping inside and take her for a walk she ends lying on the sun ( and me together cos I ve to hand the leash...)
oh I enjoy your stories as always!!
I am so happy all turned out well for Loreena and now she is back home with the 'family'...oh course she is very attached to you, she will always love you and depend on you, you are her mommy!!
Now the little girls need to grow up, no more nursing on mom,...I am glad they are strong and healthy you did a very good job taking this family in and looking aftr them so very well!
It will take her stitches a few days to heal up...than she will be a new lady with no use for those 'bad boys'...lol
take care all of you...keep telling us your family stories I enjoy them so much.
Loreena and the girls are fine.Kittens are without milk now but they are big and strong enough for and L keeps giving then a lot of attention. Now she`s getting kind of obsessed in cleaning them, many times Lucky run away from her and hide in my nap but mother cat always do her job!
PK you are right. its Obrigada.Women say Obrigada, men say Obrigado (feminine words end in A masculine in O)
Loreena`s return yesterday- She ate ( OF COURSE ! only vets believe she would not...) drink a few an stay at the living room with me til the moment she decided see the kittens.I was afraid of then biting her but let her go.So she arrived full of mother good intentions and...
Lucky run away absolutelly scaried of that strange white clothe she had on!
But girl accepted that soon, and the happy family is now reunited again.I really tried keep L more appart to take some rest and for my surprise she looked for my nap to rest once or twice( one of those exactly at the moment I was having an urge to go bathroom- pos stress one! - poor girl I had to refuse her!
Was A little drowsy but not as much as I was expecting, did a good poo before we go bed ( guess she eat something at the vet as well -do not eat too much home).Slept in the same place of the kittens, they would not sleep if I tried keep then appart.
Transport box did a great job open working a distraction for the kids, they like that...
Today Loreena took a small walk guided in the morning, it was already wanting more by the time I went home and I will probably have to take her again in the evening. She s a lot affective with me.
She is already licking the clothe, til now not biting but I have to keep an eye on since she`s supposed to keep it for a week and ITS NOT USING collar - vet said it was not need.
Please keep us posted. I wish you and Loree all the best and a fast recovery from surgery. You have done wonders for this cat. I'm sure she would say Hmm...'Obrigada?' Did I spell that right? Is that even right? LOL
Now she will have a better life. Try to keep her comfortable and don't let her walk around too much. She needs to rest now.
Hoping the kittens are doing well ;)
PK
Surgery was 10PM about 40m lasting.Transport car had arrived on time but the 10minutes I had to wait for with Loreena hungry, thristy and stressed inside the box lasted one eternity. This time she scratched my face - yes it was my fault.Nothing to worrry about that.
Waited at the clinic til the end of the surgery, vet is not exactly talkative she only said a basic good morning and went to the place girl had been taken.Needless to say I had asked in advance if I could watch the stuff (no fainting, talking or touching steril material -I promise ) but she had answered NO.
Well at the end she said it was all ok,dont alowed me to see her, I asked a few things more and she said I could pick Loreena at 4pm.
So, its all ok by now.Depending on Loreena`s condition and/ or my energy level ( had a bad sleep night and those really affect me - I can live almost without food but not without sleeping properly ...) I will pass by a LAN after to post about her arrival at home.
Once more thank you for supporting
Oh yes the angels care for our little ones when we cannot!!
kiss those babies for me too.
Thank you very much dear, I will try to keep you informed.
Tomorrow I will probably be busy giving baby caring and considering I'm posting outside my home I'm not sure if will be able to do it.Anyway, if things went ok and I arrive home on time I will post some fast news.I also want to share all this with you all, makes the burden lighter...
The "small ones"(gnomes, elves, fairies and angels) will care about Loreena as well,I do believe! They always help me/us!
yes you are up against many questions....I guess you need to have trust in this Vet that Loreena will be well taken care of.
Some anesthetics (gas if I remember) only require 8 hr fasting....but yes 12 hrs just to be safe is no harm.
If she has taken the antibiotics before the procedure that is good and a good sign that this Vet is going to do all thats best for Loreena.
Please let us know tomorrow how she is, my prayers always
I dont know if private vets do that sometimes, Loreena is my first pet!
I personally got one eye laser session for free last year after my dettachment in the private clinic I had done the surgery .They called that SOCIAL one.Probably something they do once in a blue moon :)
We talked a few - and she not tell me why its doing that... Nor I asked her about, just asked a few technical details she said will use stitches that dont need to be removed and theres no need of medication home, she leaves already had taken the antibiotics and using a protective clothe.
Also asked a period without eating shorter than the others vets had said but I guess I will keep those 12h just in case...
About the public clinics, there are a few but not here in my city, they are vet school related, there's one in a city nearby but I m not sure how would they welcome animals from another city considering they have restrictions about humanes coming from the neighborhood for using their humane public services.
ok...I understand now why you have reservations abt this Vet.
But you have heard no more bad reports since 2003..and she is in the media alot, therefor I agree more exposure to criticisms.
I still don't understand why the FREE offer?
do clinic's in your country do this as a public service...so many animals each year?
I would ask that you have a guarantee that her anesthetic etc not be compromised because of the FREE service..
I understand your worry for loreena, yet you also have the need to take advantage of such a good offer....meet with Vet and I guess all you can do is go by your feelings of her.
Tomorrow....I do wish both you and Loreena all my best wishes that soon it will be all over and Loreena will be home again with you.
and by doing this you will also be able to keep Joy!!
blessings and hugs
Sort of...
She let the dog fall from the table - so say my cousin.Dog not died
Other case was a animal let to get vaccination that ended dying. Both situations are scaring but they happened a long time ago (2003). I also talked with people (2 or 3 - one aunt included ) that say she's ok.
That aunt had restrictions about her before (for hearing case 2)and just went there cos was emergency, its pretty close to her house. She liked the vet.
Vet is well known because she used to be on midia, had participation in a local tv program and so on.Means more exposed to criticism
Point is:
1-All vets do sh... once or twice in life.Everybody does ...
2-My cousin loves and hates vets with the same facility
I'm sorry I'm really confused...I get lost in your beautiful words/translations sometimes...so tell me again please.
you are worried abt the situation because they offer FREE service is that CORRECT? do I understand you correct?
And what have you heard that this Vet has done??? :-)
no other idea crossed my mind.
There's no animal organs traffic for transplant anywhere,I guess. (this is paranoia,I'm not thinking about it !)
well i'm crediting that to my ability with writen words plus Christmas feeling in the air.
Sort of my personal miracle - it was by the time they happen.
Brazilians have soft heart sometimes and many of them help but I have to tell you I never listened a word about that vet doing that before.
On the other hand I would not let people know if I did for not having daily rolls of candidades begging for at my door...
Thats why I'm worried, more than about the surgery strictly is the whole situation that makes me wonder.
Hope you're reading still...
just reread your post....can I ask WHY this clinic offers to do this surgery FREE???
that seems odd to me...I don't understand why they would do this?
Ohhh Apple fear is very normal, I too worry excessively every time one of mine need to have surgery.. human or animal family..
We are so afraid of losing them and think only of all the negative possiblities, I guess thats normal too.
But keep in mind the thousands of such surgeries that are done routinely and believe that Loreena is in good hands....pray for her but be strong because this does NEED to be DONE!!!
so remember you are making the right decision and believe that everthing WILL turn out ok....calm down mommy....
we here will all keep her in our prayers too.
Comments are welcome...
Fear is a hell!
