thank you. she doesnt have any pus and her eye and around it isnt red. None of the of kittens or mama cat have this problem so atleast i know its controlled to one kitten. The kitten is plenty playful and happy but the eye thing worries me that if she goes blind we might not be able to find her a home. Yesterday we had to clean her eye twice instead of one which made me worry a bit and shes sleeping more than the others.
this kitten and likely all of them perhaps have the herpes virus...relax its quite common in cats. it does affect the eyes however, and left untreated can lead to a severe infection and blindness.
is the eye ball and tissue around the eye red? and weeping pus? than this kitty needs an antibiotic eye drop. I know money is tight for you but a short Vet exam and the ointment would cost you less than $50 I'm sure, perhaps by a discription a Vet would sell you the ointment even without seeing the kitten this than would only be less than $20
if there is no reddness in and around the eye. than there is another product you can use that will work really good, its safe and many Vets use it too. its cheap but has to be ordered. I get mine from iherb.com they ship for $4 if you use my code on your first shipment you recieve that $4 off SED957
(because I'm a frequent buyer)
the product is called L-lysine, its an amino acid. the Vets sell it too but its not as pure and more costly..
it comes in a powder and a scoop inside. for a kitten I would use 1/4 a scoop that equiv. to 300mg. mix it in some milk so she drinks it...or if not drinking yet, give it to her via a dropper. for at least a week, perhaps longer if needed. if the gunk returns after discontinuing that start again for another week. I use it on one of my cat whose 12 whenever he gets a flare up, usually stress will cause it to flare.
